2001 First National Encounter of Communities Affected by Mining
In March 2001, the First National Encounter of Communities Affected by Mining (Primer Encuentro Nacional de Comunidades Afectadas por la Minería) was held. At least 6 other such meetings were held over the following years to develop analysis and understanding of the impact of mining and strengthen alliances of those challenging extractive mining.
