2001 'Pilgrimage for Life'
In July 2001, church leader, Cardenal Óscar Rodríguez, led the “Pilgrimage for Life” protest to the Siria Valley to demonstrate mass support for the CAVS legal action against the mine and bring wider awareness of the impact of mining projects on local communities.
