2007 Protest by Ex Landowners in San Miguel Ixtahuacán
In 2007, ex-landowners in San Miguel who had sold their lands to the Marlin Mine project organized protests against the company relating to the process by which their lands were purchased. These grievances further exacerbated local tensions between workers at the mine and community members.
