2010 Communities in La Montaña Region (Guerrero) begin to mobilize and share information

In 2010, Hochschild Mining began exploratory activities in La Montaña region of Guerrero, such as helicopter flyovers and surveyor inspections. As members of San Miguel del Progreso became aware, they along with other communities met to share information and organize community opposition to the prospective mine.
