2013 Nicaraguan Government Delegation attends PDAC in Canada

In April 2013, a Nicaraguan government delegation participated in the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention, one of the world’s leading mining industry events. The delegation of senior government officials was spearheading President Ortega’s stated policy of boosting investment in the mining sector. However, the Catholic church and environmental NGO, Humboldt Centre, highlighted the impact of this policy on the environment in Nicaragua.
