2015 Maya Q'eqchi' Encampment in front of the National Palace
In April 2015, over 400 Maya Q'eqchi' families organized peaceful encampments in front of the National Palace in Guatemala City. The group was asking for "access to land, the resolution of agrarian conflicts, a stop to forced evictions and an end to the criminalization of community leaders."
