2017 Presidential Commission for Dialogue confirms damage in communities affected by Marlin Mine
In November 2017, the Presidential Commission for Dialogue confirmed that it had completed its verification of damage suffered in five of 10 communities in San Miguel Ixtahuacán who filed complaints against the Marlin Mine. The Commission confirmed the existence of damage to homes and contamination and drying of rivers, but did not make any determinations regarding responsibility for the damage.
