2011 March against Mining Licences for Escobal organized by Catholic Parish

In June 2011, residents of Mataquescuintla, Jalapa held a 5 kilometer march against the granting of exploration and exploitation licences for the Escobal mine. The march was organized by the local Catholic parish and supported by its counterparts in Casillas and San Rafael Las Flores, Santa Rosa.
