2013 Community Anti-Mining Training Meetings

Honduran civil society organizations, with the support of local Catholic priests, arrange training meetings (capacitaciones) to teach communities how to resist extractive industry activities. These meetings include information about the history of the anti-mining movement, the mining law, the impacts of mining, community member rights as citizens, and how to legally block the mine, among other things.
